Rayman: Origins Vita Review

Rayman Origins came out for the PS3 and 360 over 3 months ago to rave reviews and even before I heard how good it was it was a game that I really wanted. But, for some reason I kept putting it off and never got around to purchasing it. Well, I’m an idiot! Because I have now finally taken the plunge and bought Rayman Origins on the Vita and it is the best plattformer that I have played since Super Mario Brother 3. Yes, Super Mario Brothers 3. It’s better than any Mario game that has come out since 1999, as well as the Donkey Kong Series. Rayman does everything those games do, only exceptionally better.

The game is downright stunning to look at. You can ask my roommates all of whom played coop with me through the campaign and literally every 10 seconds I said, ā€˜I cannot believe how beautiful this game looks.ā€ It’s a tie between Uncharted Golden Abyss and Rayman for best graphics ever on a handheld. If I had to chose one I would chose Uncharted, because there’s more detail in what’s on the screen, but Rayman is right there….and I mean, right there.

Rayman Origins (GamingCollege Vita Review)

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  The game play is your typical plattformer, the only downside is the Vita version is not playable with up to 4 player coop (which is truly the way to play) like the console versions. However, it’s still bloody addicting. There are time trials, boss battles, secrets to collect, I found myself constantly coming back for more so I can up my score and earn all the collectibles. The jumping is fluent, the moves are powerful, and your character response perfectly to what you do on the controller. It manages to check all the boxes that every platform gamer wants. Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Review

GamingCollege Uncharted 3 Review

Stop what you are doing! In case you haven’t heard a little game entitled Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception has come out and whatever it is that you are currently doing it’s not as important as playing this game. Uncharted 3 can be summed up in one word, Masterpiece!

You play as Nathan Drake, a young, swab, and smartass treasure hunter or as many of his enemies would refer to him ā€˜a thief’.Ā  Uncharted 3 is a third person adventure game that consists of action, platforming, action, puzzles, storytelling, and more action (think Tomb Raider mixed with Indiana Jones and your favorite action blockbuster). You will do everything from climbing ledges, jumping off rooftops, hanging from planes, running through burning buildings, shooting countless bad guys (By the way, has anyone else realized that Drake is perhaps one of the biggest murderers known to man?), and countless other bad ass stunts that neither you nor I could possibly imagine, all while experiencing an emotional story. If you like video games and you own a PS3 you should be playing this game!
